National: A New Coalition

The 2020 Election showed a rejection of far-left identity politics as we saw a new coalition of voters support Conservatives around the nation. What could this mean for the future of our nation?

TPPF Executive Director Kevin Roberts said, "A new coalition is taking shape. It’s multiethnic, multiracial — and it’s conservative. It rejects the regimentation of identity politics, and even rejects the attendant language (just 3% of Hispanics use the term “Latinx,” for example). It’s working class and it’s growing."

State: More Like Hewlett Packed Up

After starting the tech boom in Silicon Valley, Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) has had enough. On December 1 they filed paperwork with the SEC to make a move to the Lone Star State. 

California's oppressive business policies have left many businesses no option but to flee the state, many for Texas where lower taxes, affordable housing, and reasonable regulatory burden are aplenty. California may want to change its course or more businesses will follow Tesla and HPE and get out of the Golden State.

Local: Unlimited POWEERRR!  

The City of Austin City Council voted to grant an unelected bureaucrat power to create new rules and fine individuals up to $2,000 for breaking those rules through December 31, 2021. TPPF immediately called out this blatant power grab and called out city council.

“The City of Austin has vested unelected bureaucrats with an inappropriate level of authority for a prolonged period of time; this is not how representative government is supposed to work,” said TPPF’s Shelby Sterling. “Furthermore, not following the Austin health authority’s rules could cost someone as much as $2,000 per instance. It’s unfathomable to threaten such an excessive fine at a time of enormous economic distress. This overreach should prompt significant reform from the next Texas Legislature.”
