John — We’ve known since the summer that Americans would need additional COVID-19 relief. That’s why the House immediately sprung into action and passed the HEROES Act.

This bill provided for direct payments to Americans, aid for state and local governments, additional PPE money, and my signature proposal: hazard pay for essential workers.

But Mitch McConnell and his Republican Senate have left Americans out in the cold. They have refused to hold a vote on this legislation, and now we are going into the winter with no relief deal signed.

The working people who are in Northeastern Pennsylvania and all across the country can’t wait any longer. Rent has been due, the bills are waiting to be paid, and people are really hurting. Enough is enough of the political games — Mitch McConnell needs to stop sitting on his hands and stand up for Americans.
