Hi Team,
Last year, after the tragic loss of my dear friend and colleague, Elijah Cummings, I was asked to serve as the interim Chair of The House Committee on Oversight and Reform. A few months later, I was officially elected to fill the position as the first-ever woman to chair the committee. It was such an incredible honor to be selected by my colleagues to carry on Elijah's legacy as chair, and I've remained dedicated to making him proud in the role.
This week, we held leadership elections in the House — and I'm deeply grateful and proud to announce that I have again been chosen to continue serving as Chairwoman of the Oversight Committee.
It means so much to me to have been elected by my peers to continue holding this position. I'm humbled that my commitment to Oversight and my work thus far as chairwoman has warranted their support.
Oversight is essential to rooting out corruption in our government and holding elected officials accountable. As chairwoman, I will continue fighting to ensure full transparency and investigate fraud and misconduct so that the American people have a government that they can trust.
Will you celebrate this proud moment with me and donate now to help me keep conducting necessary Oversight in Congress?
