Friend,
The GOP’s assault on our multiracial democracy is far from over.
As The Washington Post reports, “the majority of Republican members of Congress, Trump enablers in right-wing media, the Republican National Committee and local Republican leaders...have engaged in a coordinated push to preserve the power of a shrinking White electorate, which is essential to their grip on political power.”
Leaders like Stacey Abrams have worked tirelessly to not only expose this oppressive power dynamic, but to bring the power back to the people on the ground. For years, she and grassroots organizers across the country worked to protect the vote and re-enfranchise thousands of Americans from communities of color that had been purposefully excluded from the electoral process.
Despite Republican claims that they’re just ensuring the elections are “fair” and “transparent,” we know that the GOP’s voter suppression tactics in this, and every election, truly rely on silencing communities of color.
There’s so much work to be done to ensure that EVERY American, regardless of their background, has the right to vote and have their vote counted -- and that starts with calling it like it is. Democrats may have won in this election, but we won’t forget the GOP’s efforts to silence us along the way. Today we need to know where YOU stand:
Do you condemn GOP voter suppression?
Thank you for standing with us,
