John,
It has been a great day so far: Former Representative Patrick Murphy just awarded U.S. Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi one of Victory Institute’s most prestigious awards: the LGBTQ History Maker Award! And if that wasn’t special enough, President-elect Joe Biden also gave remarks to thank her for her service!
From vocally supporting marriage equality when others held back to elevating LGBTQ voices at all levels of government, President-elect Biden and Speaker Pelosi understand that to govern, you must include all voices in the conversation. That's the essence of Victory Institute's mission: empowering LGBTQ leaders during every step of their career. But to keep this work going, we need donors like you to stand with us. Will you make a generous donation today?
That’s one of the reasons Speaker Pelosi’s office hosts one of our Victory Congressional Interns each summer, showing a young LGBTQ leader how Capitol Hill operates and ensuring they can make the connections necessary to further pursue a career in politics, law or advocacy. Our Victory Congressional Interns are the key to creating a lasting pipeline of LGBTQ leadership in Washington. And right now, we’re crafting our 2021 budget. With your help, we can continue year-round VCI classes and expand the stipend given to these students. Will you make a generous donation to boost our work today?
Our VCIs leave our programs with a broader support network in LGBTQ politics, the skills to further their chosen carriers, and the knowledge that they can change the world. But essential programs like these can’t run without donors like you. Chip in today to build the next generation of LGBTQ leadership!
Thanks again for standing with us –
