Dear John,

This year, we wanted to do something extra special to celebrate the
holidays. So, we’ve partnered with Court Appointed Special Advocates
(CASA) Jefferson, an organization that advocates for the rights of
children in foster care in the Greater New Orleans Area, to purchase toys
for foster kids in need. [ [link removed] ]Help us give the gift of Black joy to foster
children in the Greater New Orleans Area by donating $3 per month.

All too often, Black kids are unjustly denied the joy that many other
children experience simply because of their Blackness. Studies show that
Black children are seen as more guilty, more aggressive, and more adult
than their white counterparts, which leads to Black kids facing
unnecessary criminalization and long-term impacts like negative effects on
their emotional and educational development.^1,2 This is magnified for
foster children who, in addition, face familial disruption and complex
legal proceedings. Despite all of that, the children of CASA Jefferson
demonstrate resilience and persistence, and they keep fighting to do their
best with what they have.

kids in the Greater New Orleans Area.

Black foster kids should be able to take part in the joy and excitement of
the holiday season, just like any other children. But CASA Jefferson needs
your help to make sure their foster kids have joyful holidays. By matching
children with a dedicated advocate, CASA Jefferson ensures children in
foster care have comfort, love, a consistent adult presence, and a sense
of stability during legal proceedings. They are a positive resource for
kids going through a difficult time, and because they do so much for their
kids, we want to share some Black joy with them.

[ [link removed] ]John, sign up TODAY to be a monthly donor and give Greater
New Orleans foster kids the gift of Black joy.

Just $3 per month ensures we can send as much joy as possible to as many
foster kids at CASA Jefferson as possible.
