Going strong: 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence

From bridges in Viet Nam to monuments in Ecuador, the world is turning orange as activists come together to demand a violence-free future for women and girls during the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence. The global annual campaign, running from 25 November to 10 December, is going strong in a year like no other that has seen an alarming upsurge of violence against women during the COVID-19 pandemic. You can make a difference: Here are 10 ways you can help end violence against women. And, take a break from your day to get inspired by every day activists who are building a safer world for every one.

The BBC has named Cindy Sirinya Bishop, UN Women Regional Goodwill Ambassador for Asia and the Pacific, one of its 100 inspiring and influential women from around the world for 2020. A Thai celebrity and rights activist, Bishop is working to stop violence and other abuses against women and to promote gender equality. Read more »
