Like you, I am deeply alarmed by the disturbing images and reports from our southern border of children being ripped from their parents and forced to endure unsanitary, inhumane conditions. It's outrageous that this cruel excuse for care is happening on our government's watch.

As a mother and grandmother, I know that no parent would accept this treatment for their child. We must do everything we can to stop the horrific harm being done to children and families.

Yesterday, I joined Senate Democrats to introduce the Stop Cruelty to Migrant Children Act which will work to end the crisis that President Trump manufactured on our southern border.

Our bill would end the President's cruel family separation policy, and create strong new standards to ensure safe and sanitary conditions for children and families at our border.

But legislation alone won't solve this -- we all need to keep raising our voices against this administration's cruel treatment of children and families. Add your name to join our fight to stop the inhumane conditions at our border.
