Dear Friend,
One of the best ways to help Rhode Islanders get good jobs and jump start our state's economy is by making it easier to access high quality job training programs.
As you know, when I came into office I relaunched the state's 529 savings plan, CollegeBound - an easy, affordable way for Rhode Island families of every income level to save for their children's education tax-free, with only a $1 minimum deposit. Our plan is now one of the highest ranked in the country.
Now I have more good news - this week we announced that Rhode Islanders can now use their CollegeBound funds to pay for costs associated with apprenticeship programs. Apprenticeships provide participants with practical, on-the-ground job training, a steady paycheck from the beginning, and a pathway to an immediate career upon graduation.
With thousands of Rhode Islanders facing reduced hours and lay-offs due to the pandemic, this is more important than ever.
With your help, I will continue to fight every day to strengthen our economy and ensure that all Rhode Islanders have the opportunity for a secure financial future.
Can you donate today to help support this crucial work?
Thank you for your support,
Seth
