The COVID-19 pandemic has caused thousands of District workers to lose their job through no fault of their own. That is why DC Jobs with Justice and a coalition of labor and community groups are organizing to pass the Displaced Workers Right to Reinstatement and Retention Amendment Act which would ensure that workers have the chance to return to their position as businesses reopen. By passing this bill we can offer laid-off workers in heavily impacted industries a semblance of certainty about their future, guaranteeing that their jobs, should they return, will be given to them. Join us in calling on the Council to pass the right to return to work bill!

Although this is a strong bill, we know the business lobbies are pushing back against it. We cannot allow the bill to be weakened! Our recovery will be neither strong nor complete if it only benefits employers and businesses while leaving workers behind.
