Dear John,
We’ve seen this one before, haven’t we?
Back in May, First Liberty protected people of faith in Kentucky from Governor Andy Beshear’s unlawful order which prohibited religious gatherings under the threat of criminal penalty.
But apparently, Governor Beshear still hasn’t gotten the memo—he’s back at it again with a new hostile order. His target this time? Religious schools.
FLI Senior Counsel Roger Byron joined Fox News earlier today to explain what makes the Governor’s latest order so dangerous to religious freedom, and what we are doing to stop it:
Not only is this order a clear double-standard, it fits an ominous pattern of religious discrimination that has crept into numerous states around the country—threatening the first amendment rights of millions of religious Americans.
Take New York, for example. In another breaking development, because of the discrimination that occurred to First Liberty’s clients, the U.S. Department of Justice filed a federal lawsuit against the Village of Airmont, NY alleging religious discrimination against the Orthodox Jewish community—echoing a similar lawsuit we filed 2 years ago on behalf of Jewish residents literally being forced to practice their faith in hiding.
It’s an undeniable and unacceptable fact: Religious persecution is alive and well in America, despite what you hear (or don’t hear) in the media. We have been at the frontlines of this essential fight from the very beginning, reversing these flagrant violations of your rights.
But we can only keep winning and remain First in the Fight with your financial support.
And right now is the perfect time to join the fight with us! Your gift now through December 31st will be multiplied by our largest-ever Challenge Grant of $500,000—making good on our promise to deliver more freedom per dollar.

Gratefully,
Kelly
