It has been over six months since my House colleagues and I passed the Health and Economic Recovery Omnibus Emergency Solutions (HEROES) Act. Six months have come and gone, and Mitch McConnell hasn't moved even one step closer to bringing this necessary and essential relief package to a vote in the Senate.
Let's look at the numbers:
- 4.4 million new coronavirus cases were reported in November.
- 270 million Americans are facing food insecurity today.
- 12 million Americans are set to lose their unemployment benefits by the end of the year.
- 40 million Americans could face eviction by the end of the year.
John, this reeks of failure by McConnell and his allies in the Senate.
McConnell fails the American people every day he refuses to do his job as a public servant. Relief from the CARES Act is expiring at the end of the month. Senate Republicans must act NOW.
