CLCV Member,
With Kamala Harris becoming our next Vice President, California is losing
an environmental justice champion in the Senate. Now, Governor Newsom is
responsible for appointing a new senator to her seat. We don’t know when
exactly the Governor will make his decision but we know it will be soon.
[ [link removed] ]Call Governor Newsom today and tell him we need a climate justice
champion in the U.S. Senate.
Wildfires and other climate-related disasters will only continue to get
worse. We need to send a bold leader with a strong environmental record to
the US Senate now. This person’s actions in the next few years will make a
big difference in our climate future.
A senator who puts the health of people over the profits of corporations
can help make sure all Californians have access to clean air and water,
mitigate fire danger with informed federal forest management, build a
stronger economic future with more green jobs, and ensure racial justice
and equity are at the core of any climate policy.
Our window of opportunity is closing. Governor Newsom needs to know the
urgency Californians feel on the climate crisis.
The companies who stand to profit from a weak stance on climate won’t
hesitate to make their opinion known. It’s up to us to make sure the
Governor hears from voters. [ [link removed] ]Don’t delay - click to call and tell
Governor Newsom to appoint a climate justice champion to the Senate.

We believe that radical change is necessary and only by transforming our political system will we create the opportunity to take bold action on climate change. We elect and cultivate environmental champions, turn election victories into policy wins, hold our lawmakers accountable, and build political power for change. We inspire hope and action and fight for equity and justice for all Californians. We are in the business of changing what’s possible.
