It’s the power and strength of grassroots organizers and people like Stacey Abrams who worked tirelessly to mobilize the historic voter turnout that delivered Georgia for President-elect Joe Biden and turned the state blue for the first time in decades.
But our work here isn’t done yet.
Jon Ossoff and Rev. Raphael Warnock have what it takes to flip Georgia’s senate seats blue this January, too, but they need to build a strong grassroots organization just like the one that drove Joe Biden to victory in Georgia.
The truth is this won’t be easy.
Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and GOP super PACs have already invested $70 million in the Georgia runoffs. The NRSC raised $32 million for Jon and Raphael’s Republican opponents -- and that was in just one week.
And that’s not the only thing standing in our way. Historically, voter turnout in runoffs tends to be lower than it is in general elections.
I know we can do it though. We’ve done great work as a team, raised awareness for tough elections all over the country, and raised nearly $4 million for Democrats ahead of the general election.
