As I’m sure you have seen, the COVID-19 pandemic is far from over and our communities, especially here in California, are preparing for a long and difficult couple of weeks. It has been many months since Congress has taken action on urgent relief legislation to help American families make ends meet, put food on the table and keep a roof over their heads. As a member of the Problem Solvers Caucus, I’m working with my colleagues across the aisle to develop a brand new bi-partisan relief plan which will provide emergency funding for: housing, nutrition and loan relief; education and resources for students and teachers; contact tracing, vaccine development and distribution; the Paycheck Protection Program for struggling businesses; additional unemployment insurance and much more. This emergency framework will allow us to move past partisan paralysis and take immediate bi-partisan action to ensure that our communities can cope with the ongoing economic and health crisis. Will you sign on as a citizen endorser of this legislation?
I strongly believe that this framework is what we need right now to provide emergency support to the most vulnerable among us. It’s endorsed by a bi-partisan coalition of more than 50 members of Congress, and it will get us on the right track to tackle the virus once and for all. We must act fast to ensure that American families and our communities have the resources to survive.
