Now that Congress is back in session, speaker Pelosi’s affront to the progressive movement seem to emerge on a nearly daily basis. From her continued opposition to impeaching our criminal president to her continued refusal to support universal healthcare, we’ve had enough. Fortunately, the word is getting out that San Francisco has an alternative!

Yesterday, Shahid had a chance to host an “Ask Me Anything” session on Reddit in the prolific r/politics subreddit. Thousands of people visited the exchange, and over 900 actively participated.

We couldn’t be more thrilled by the response! The nearly thousand comments included great questions, and most importantly, a fantastic opportunity to explain our campaign and message to a viral audience.

On Impeachment:

“Speaker Pelosi is shirking a constitutional responsibility to which she (and every Member of Congress) commits. She took an oath to defend the Constitution against all enemies foreign and domestic. There could be no worse example than a thief and serial liar who has occupied the White House.”

On Homelessness:

“Our local housing crisis has a federal root, and the catastrophic decline in federal spending on affordable housing over the past generation is one of the many reasons I’m running to represent our city in Washington.”

On the Need to Beat Pelosi:

“Pelosi may appear progressive to some, but only according to yesterday's standards.”

And on His Unique Goals in Office:

“If Trump does somehow survive the 2020 election, we need Members of Congress who will fight tooth & nail to defend democracy. Our current incumbents perceive their jobs as careers. But mine has always been resistance, even long before Trump. That’s the attitude we need among the people’s representatives at a time like this.”
