John,
Control of the U.S. Senate will come down to a pair of runoff elections in Georgia on January 5th. That's just 33 days away. And, together, we need to make sure marginalized and underrepresented voters throughout Georgia cast their ballots.
CHN is cooperating with groups on the ground doing critical voter outreach, including the New Georgia Project, which is holding volunteer voter registration drives across the state of Georgia in all 159 counties. The voter registration deadline for the upcoming runoff elections is next Monday, December 7th. No matter what part of the country you live in, you can volunteer to help register voters and increase voter turnout in Georgia with our allies at the New Georgia Project, by clicking here.
Take a moment, and explore the opportunities that are available to you. Major issues are at stake in these two elections. Not only will they determine control of the U.S. Senate―they will have a tremendous impact on the type of legislation that President Biden will be able to pass through Congress.
If you can’t volunteer, that’s OK! Here is an Amazon wishlist of items requested by the New Georgia Project, including fortifying snacks, hand sanitizer and PPEs like face masks and face shields, that volunteers on the ground in Georgia need to get out the vote in underrepresented and marginalized communities. Door-to-door contact is the best way to engage new voters: These volunteers deserve protection (and snacks too―it’s a lot of walking)!
Whatever item you decide to donate will automatically be sent directly to volunteers in Georgia.
Or, if you would prefer not to use Amazon, click here to make a donation directly to the New Georgia Project.
Your work was critical in making sure underrepresented communities made a plan to vote and voted their priorities during the historic Presidential election. Together, we are keeping people engaged in our democracy, to make sure they stand up and make a difference, and to make sure they vote in these critical runoff elections on January 5th.
Thank you for all you have done and continue to do.
