This amazing Christmas light trail in the city opens this afternoon. Check out some first shots of the trail in this message.

Experience a trail of discovery through four magical lands, specially designed to fit into the natural landscape of the Hall and Gardens.

Visitors of all ages will be captivated by this brand new, visually stunning multi sensory experience of light, fire and sound. A seasonal classic with a contemporary twist.

Here's a flavour of what you will see...

Winter Woodland
Illuminated trees and shrubs with woodland animals created especially for Christmas at Wollaton  and a family of deer created by topiary art designer Steve Manning.

Laser Garden 
Tiny beams of concentrated light create an immersive garden of beautiful flowers.

Windswept Trees
A sensory garden surrounded by a carpet of lights with a sculpture of trees made of curved steel and intricate copper leaves and branches.

Tunnel of Light
Sparkling tunnel of light with pulsating orbs overhead.

Moonlit Glade
Look up to the heavens to find the Man in the Moon. He is surrounded by shooting stars and sparkling icicles of light.

Rainbow Walk
Chase after these sweeping pulses of colourful light.

Incadescence
Experience the Victorian charm of Wollaton Hall's Camellia House which houses a spider's web of flexes and cables. Orange filaments create the warm flicker of incandescent light. 

Solstice Flames
Welcome in winter with a nursery of fire sculptures in the formal gardens.

Festive Finale
A festively lit Wollaton Hall provides the backdrop to a giant Christmas tree and presents

Travel planning

CAW travel

ROAD ACCESS
Wollaton Hall is 3 miles west of the city centre. Follow the brown signs from the A52 or the A6514, or from the M1 take J25 and follow the signs. The postcode for your sat nav is NG8 2AE.

PUBLIC TRANSPORT
It's recommended you plan your travel in advance. Use the city council's transport planning tool to work out your route.

Ticket info - Groups

CAW family group

In line with the current government guidance, the limit on the number of tickets that can be purchased in one go is 6.

If you are from more than one household you will be asked to enter the trail at staggered times to ensure that you comply with the government regulation surrounding mixing of households.

Only groups of people in the same household will be able to walk the trail together.

Children under 3 do not require a ticket but should be factored into your group size when you attend
