Already, over 157,000 people have signed our petition calling on the incoming Biden-Harris administration to fire Trump’s political appointees to the Social Security Administration and rescind their dangerous rule changes, which will result in hundreds of thousands of people getting thrown off of their Social Security benefits.

Donald Trump and Mitch McConnell stuffed the Social Security Administration full of people who fundamentally don’t believe in Social Security. It’s no wonder that these Trump appointees are spending the closing days of the Trump administration pushing through dangerous regulations that threaten the benefits of hundreds of thousands of people with disabilities.

When they take office, Joe Biden and Kamala Harris must replace these Trump cronies with leaders who actually care about the lives and livelihoods of the people who depend on our Social Security system!

With the clock ticking on Trump’s time in Washington, his appointees are pushing through a slew of regulations that will harm vulnerable communities, including seniors, people with disabilities, and people who rely on food assistance.¹

For Social Security, they’re making it harder to appeal denials to disability applications―even as the vast majority of people who eventually qualify for disability are rejected the first time around. Then, they’re forcing people to re-apply for benefits more frequently, an unwarranted expansion of a policy called “Continuing Disability Reviews” that, when tried in the 1980s during the Reagan administration, caused more than 200,000 people to lose their benefits at least temporarily.

This is exactly the kind of senseless bureaucracy that Republicans criticize the government for. And they then turn around and put these roadblocks in place with the intent of undermining Social Security and its overwhelming public support!

Tell Joe Biden and Kamala Harris: Fire the Social Security administrators Trump put in place to undermine our Social Security system, and reverse the damage they’ve done to our earned benefits.
