Presenting: It Gets Better EspañolTues, Dec 8 @ 9:30a PT / 12:30p ET The It Gets Better Project’s Global Affiliate Network has found particularly fertile ground in the Spanish-speaking world in the last decade. But while Hispanic communities both within US borders and elsewhere have grown exponentially, they continue to lack visibility in both media and politics, especially LGBTQ+ voices. It Gets Better Español aims to address this challenge. Join the conversation with our Global Programming Coordinator and representatives from our affiliates in Spain, Guatemala, and Argentina. Safe Hour ProgramWed, Dec 9 @ 9:30a PT / 12:30p ET It all started with our affiliate in Chile. Now, the Safe Hour program – a digital psychological support service for LGBTQ+ youth at risk – has quickly expanded throughout our network in Latin America. This round table conversation will shine a light on the challenges LGBTQ+ youth face in the region and how the Safe Hour program has expanded to meet their needs in the time of COVID19. Drag TalkWed, Dec 9 @ 11a PT / 2p ET Drag has become an essential part of entertaining the LGBTQ+ community, but its also known as a welcoming space that has uplifted and empowered many a queen. Come join this intimate look into the workroom of New York queens Chelsea Piers and RuPaul’s Drag Race alum Jackie Cox as they do their makeup and discuss mental health issues facing the LGBTQ+ community, how drag offers inspiration, and what they’re doing to protect their mental health in a time when performing is anything but normal. Uplifting Queer Voices on TwitterThurs, Dec 10 @ 9:30a PT / 12:30p ET Twitter’s mission is about creating healthy conversations and historically has been the go-to platform for activists from around the world.
