Nominations closing tomorrow for at-large Steering Committee seats
Here's what you need to know:
- Nominate yourself using this form by midnight Friday, December 4.
- Register for Saturday's chapter meeting here.
- At the chapter meeting, we will accept nominations from the floor and introduce all the candidates.
- Going to a protest on Saturday and can't make the chapter meeting? No problem. You can still both run and vote in the election. If you are a candidate, your statement will be available on the chapter website for members to read, and you can ask a comrade to read a one-minute statement on your behalf during the meeting.
- The meeting minutes will be available shortly after the meeting ends, and a recording will be available on YouTube -- watch #announcements on the chapter Slack for links.
- You can read Saturday's proposed meeting rules here. We'll vote to approve these rules at the beginning of the meeting.
- In addition to the election, the rules also cover the proposed bylaw amendment that may affect the election. You can read that amendment here and it will be introduced during the meeting.
- We'll use OpaVote for voting on the amendment and for the election. Members will receive an OpaVote link for the amendment about 24 hours after the meeting.
- The election will take place after the vote on the amendment. Each vote is open for seven days, so watch for your second OpaVote link starting next Saturday.
