Liberty’s legal advice service is a lifeline for anyone unable to find or afford a lawyer, anyone trying to exercise their fundamental right to protest, and anyone confused by ever-changing laws and regulations. 

The team provides free, impartial human rights legal advice to thousands of people every year, empowering them to take action if their own rights – or those of their loved ones and communities – are threatened.

If you haven’t already, please consider making a donation today.

This year our legal advisors have already responded to more than 1,300 individual requests for help. The team’s online coronavirus hub has been accessed more than 120,000 times so far. And we have distributed 24,000 information cards to protesters, so they know their rights during the pandemic.

And with a year of uncertainty ahead as the Government tries to water down our rights, effectively ban protest and dodge accountability for its actions, it’s never been more important that we are all able to stand up to power.
