This is the last time I’ll be reaching out today, John – and I wish I had better news about our must-hit, extended $50,000 Giving Tuesday triple match goal.
I just checked in with my team, and we’re still short with just hours left, despite our match. Our ability to pass life-saving gun safety legislation, overcome Mitch McConnell’s lethal inaction, and finally end the NRA's reign of terror all comes down to whether or not we hit this goal. And falling short now means making difficult decisions for the fights ahead, from an assault weapons ban to universal background checks.
For Steve and me, this fight is personal. We’re both gun violence survivors who are working as hard as we can to make sure no other family has to experience the pain that we do. If everyone reading this just gave $5 – and had every dollar TRIPLED – we’d hit our goal in minutes and ensure Brady has what it takes to defeat the NRA, take action to prevent gun violence, and save lives. $5 might not sound like much – but when you add it to a sea of grassroots donations, it makes all the difference. It makes or breaks our budgets.
But the truth is, I know not everyone reading will or can give, so I’m personally asking you, John, to give now — because we can't do this without you: Will you rush $5 now – every dollar you can chip in to have TRIPLED – so Brady can defeat the NRA, take action on gun violence prevention, and save lives?

John —
My name is Steve Kerr, and I’m about to share one of the most devastating moments of my life with you.
Before I was an NBA championship coach, before I was an NBA champion, I was just a young man working hard to make my dreams come true. But 36 years ago, my life was shattered when my father was shot and killed outside his office.
Before that, I thought my life was impenetrable. I thought bad things happened to other people, not me. I thought I was immune to everything, and I thought my family was too.
John, it devastates me every time I hear about another shooting — another family losing a loved one, another act of senseless gun violence. The reality is that no one is immune to the dangers of gun violence — at least not while NRA cronies like Mitch McConnell and Donald Trump refuse to take action and save lives.
For too long, they've left their bloody, shameful mark on this country, and I will never forget that. They refused to lift a single finger while tens of thousands of people die by gun violence every year.
But under President Biden's administration, things can change. We can pass legislation that the majority of Americans support, and we can prevent other people from feeling the absence and loss I do.
That's why I work with Brady — and why I'm eager for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris to take real, meaningful action that will save lives — and relegate the NRA to obscurity. Brady has a plan to do that. But, John, that plan depends on you.
This is a special Giving Tuesday — it's the day that marks the moment things begin to change. That's why a group of Brady donors has generously offered to triple match every dollar people like you donate up to our $50,000 goal. But with hours left to go, we're still falling short of our goal, and I'm counting on you to give and make sure Brady has the resources to change so many lives:
Please, will you give $5 or more right now and have it go three times as far in Brady's fight to help defeat the NRA, overcome Mitch McConnell’s bloody inaction, and pass life-saving gun safety laws? Every dollar you give before midnight will help us keep other families from enduring the heartbreak that too many families like mine have experienced.

I can’t emphasize this enough: If we’re going to move forward with Brady’s plan for gun safety reform, we need to join forces to overcome Mitch McConnell and the NRA’s dangerous inaction. Together we’re unstoppable, and I hope you’ll join me in this fight to take action on gun violence, John.
