Yesterday, it broke in the Washington Post that a whistleblower had gone to the Intelligence Community Inspector General to file a complaint about President Trump.

What we know right now from yesterday’s reporting and reporting done today by the New York Times is that this complaint involves multiple acts by the president, including a commitment the president made with another world leader.

We’re not going to speculate about what was made, or who it was made to, but we will say this: The American people deserve a president they can trust will have the best interests of America in mind when on the phone with leaders from around the world.

President Trump’s behavior, first as a candidate and as president, has not inspired that confidence. And while we wait to learn more details about this potentially troubling news, we’re reminded of the choice we hope to give the American people in 2020.
