John,
You and thousands of Canadians have demanded serious action to curb the wave of plastic waste flowing into the environment, landfills, parks and waterways. The federal government is listening.
The government is proposing to add plastics to the Toxic Substance List under the Canadian Environmental Protection Act (CEPA) and released a list of six plastic single-use items it proposes to ban.
This is progress but we need to demand more. Right now, the plastics industry is lobbying against bans and challenging the validity of labelling plastics as toxic.

Take a minute to participate in the federal government’s public consultation on its proposed action plan to tackle plastic waste. This is an opportunity to ask the federal government to transition Canada to a low-carbon and toxic-free circular economy.
You only have until Thursday, December 9 to submit your letter.
Sincerely,
|
