[ [link removed] ]Add your name now to call on President-Elect Joe Biden and Vice
President-Elect Kamala Harris to cancel ALL student debt.

CANCEL STUDENT DEBT →

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

John,

The student debt crisis in our country has now peaked at $1.7 trillion.
Nearly two thirds of this debt, amounting to $929 billion, is held by
women.^1

Cancelling all student debt would provide much-needed relief for millions
of Americans and enact the single biggest stimulus we could add to the
economy.

For years, our progressive movement has been fighting to address the
student debt crisis. But now with massive layoffs and record numbers of
unemployment due to COVID-19, our fight to cancel student debt is
especially critical. Millions of families are struggling to afford
groceries and rent — in this moment of crisis it is cruel and unjust for
the government to add on the extra burden of student loan payments.

More Democrats in leadership than ever before recognize the significant
impact of cancelling student debt. We have a real chance at getting Biden
to commit to passing an executive order for student debt forgiveness in
his first week in office. But here’s the problem: the transition team is
currently debating whether to cancel all student debt or only small
portions.

We need to work together to send a clear message to the Biden-Harris
administration that this is not the time for half measures — we must
cancel ALL student debt. [ [link removed] ]That’s why Women’s March is partnering with
progressive leaders including Ayanna Pressley and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez
to demand Joe Biden cancel all student debt. Will you show your support
and add your name?

CANCEL STUDENT DEBT →

Right now, women are experiencing the worst effects of the COVID-19
recession. Women, especially women of color, have been impacted the most
by wage cuts, layoffs, loss of health insurance due to unemployment, and
increasing child care costs.

By cancelling all student-debt, which is largely held by women, the
Biden-Harris administration can help women and their families get back on
their feet and stop exacerbating this growing economic inequality.

From now until Inauguration Day, we must keep up the pressure on Biden and
make it clear that cancelling all student debt is a top priority for the
women who helped put him in office.

[ [link removed] ]That’s why it’s so important to us that you sign this
petition, John.
Every signature represents the strength of our movement and helps make
sure the Biden-Harris administration takes our demands seriously.

Let’s do this,

Women’s March Team
