Dear Patriot, Millions of Americans traveled for Thanksgiving last week to see family and friends, which was a great thing to see. This is all despite the fact that governors across the country tried to shame and even block them from doing so . . . and then hypocritically traveled to family gatherings themselves. That’s the good news. The bad news is travel is still down from where it was in 2019, and something more insidious is now at play. And at least one airline is now coming right out and saying that they will require a “COVID” vaccine for international travelers. Bloomberg reported on Qantas CEO Alan Joyce discussing this requirement in an interview: “We are looking at changing our terms and conditions to say, for international travelers, we will ask people to have a vaccination before they can get on the aircraft,” Joyce said in the interview. Joyce told Channel 9 he has discussed the idea with other airlines globally. “It’s going to be a common theme across the board,” he said. Other airlines will surely follow suit when bailout money becomes tied to a vaccine requirement in order to fly. We all know what happens next if the public doesn’t object. I can’t help but be reminded of the abject failures of the TSA, despite being given carte blanche to create a police state inside our airports. TSA was given the ability to go searching for anything threatening, even inside our clothes, without a warrant! And that applied to our children, too. Did they ever find a single terrorist during their millions upon millions of invasive “pat downs?” Patriot, they haven’t found a single one, but it’s well documented they managed to abuse and molest countless passengers -- both adults and minors -- in the process! There are some signs of cracking, even in an airline that has never had a lot of difficulty financially. Southwest Airlines is trying to avoid layoffs for the first time ever in the history of their company, in a year where domestic air travel is down by 65%, according to the Associated Press and Bloomberg. We’ve seen polls conducted that up to 2/3 of Americans will not trust the vaccine, so does that mean they will also never be allowed to travel by air again? That would make the 65% loss in travelers a permanent condition! I hope they wise up because I don’t think a majority of the public will come around to this vaccine any time soon, especially if it starts making people sick like the rushed swine flu vaccine did in the 1970s. Of course, this is when good policy makers could step in and protect the rights of air passengers, regardless of what these airlines think they can demand. Some people may choose to take this vaccine so they can go about their business but many more won’t, and they cannot be treated as second class citizens . . . if we’re going to remain a free society. Patriot, a vaccine cannot be made a condition for you to exercise your rights to travel or do business, but we have to make that very clear to Congress. Sign the petition immediately.
