John, I wanted to tell you about an issue I’ve been working on in Congress.

Our highways are becoming more crowded with tractor-trailers and big rigs are getting larger. As a result, injuries in truck crashes are becoming more serious and more frequent.

I’m calling for an increase in the insurance liability truckers carry in order to bring long-overdue justice for crash victims! My bill to force truckers to carry more liability insurance was introduced in Congress in July and is currently in committee.

But the GOP is actively attacking me for this legislation. They claim we want to put truckers out of business, that consumers will pay much more for goods if this legislation passes, and that I’m just trying to make lawyers rich.

John, I’m not one to back down when justice is at stake.

I’ve spent years representing people who were hurt in accidents. The truth is I’m doing this to help crash victims and promote safety on our roads. Higher insurance standards mean higher safety standards. Victims have a right to justice, and all Americans have a right to feel safe on the road.

The GOP will continue their unfounded attacks on me and my motives right up to Election Day 2020. I’m asking for your support now so I can continue to grow a first-rate campaign operation built to withstand the attacks!
