The good news: YouTube suspended One America News, Trump's favorite media outlet, from its platform for one week after the deceitful "news" organization spread lies about a fake cure for COVID.

The bad news is that OAN's suspension only lasted for a week, which means it could be over by the time you read this message.

That means OAN can go right back to spreading its alt-right lies. Lies that include, as the Washington Post reports, "presenting Trump's claims of widespread voter fraud as credible, even as such claims have been repeatedly dismissed by elections officials ... even as growing numbers of Republicans distanced themselves from such claims and urged Trump to move forward with the transition to President-elect Joe Biden."

Here's the problem, friend. The election isn't over. Trump has lost the presidency, that's for certain (no matter what he or OAN say). But the Senate is still up for grabs. Georgia's special elections will decide whether Democrats can actually pass laws under President Joe Biden or whether Mitch McConnell will be able to block every attempt at progress, every cabinet appointment, every judge or justice that Biden suggests.

Youtube giving OAN a timeout won't stop them from spreading misinformation and swaying the GA elections (or any elections for years to come). And Twitter and Facebook are hardly doing anything at all to rein in far-right outlets -- and there are many more than just OAN.

We can't rely on Big Tech to do what's right, especially with such crucial elections coming up so soon. We need to step up ourselves. Are you in?
