Dear John,
I have some amazing news to share! At long last, after decades of campaigning by animal activists like you, wild animal circuses are now banned across Britain!
Because as of yesterday, 1st December, wild animals are now banned from travelling circuses in Wales, bringing them in line with similar bans in England and Scotland.
What a historic day for animals! Thank you for all of the campaigning you have carried out to make this day possible.
No longer will wild animals like elephants, tigers, lions, rhinos, bears and so many more face a life on the road with a circus. Never again will they face a life being forced to perform degrading tricks in front of crowd after crowd in the circus ring.
These animals are now safe from exploitation, because of incredible people like you!

But sadly, not all animals have escaped the circus.
These bans do not cover animals classed as ‘domesticated’ meaning circuses have not finished exploiting animals just yet. Horses, llamas, dogs, cats, birds and others are still part of the show in many circuses across the UK. These animals may not be wild but their suffering is still great at the hands of their captors.
So with your support, we will keep on fighting to free animals in circuses, until everyone of them is free from exploitation.
But for now, let us celebrate this incredible milestone, which has been a long time coming. Thank you for fighting for animal freedom!
In solidarity,
