Tier 3 Covid-19 Restrictions in Nottingham
**A message from City Council Deputy Leader, Cllr Sally Longford:**
sally longford
The countrys second national lockdown has now ended and today Nottingham has entered in to Tier 3. While we welcome the news that many of our shops will be able to reopen, Tier 3 will see many of the most stringent measures continue in the city. Being in Tier 3 will not be easy for any of us, but we have to remember that the stronger measures that were introduced in October and November helped to bring down the number of Covid-19 cases significantly.
I know that Nottingham people have on the whole diligently followed all the rules set down for the city over this pandemic and many of us were hoping for a less restrictive tier as we came out of Lockdown. Our ambition remains that we should all work together as a city to stick to the rules and ensure that cases of Covid-19 continue to fall. If the infection rate continues to fall it gives us a chance of possibly moving into Tier 2 before Christmas.
Being in Tier 3 means:
* You can't mix with anybody you do not live with, or who is not in your support bubble, indoors, or in private gardens and pub gardens
* People can continue to see friends and family in groups of six or less that they dont live with in certain outdoor public spaces, such as a park or public garden.
* Hospitality venues - such as bars, pubs, cafes and restaurants must stay closed, except for delivery and takeaway services
* Shops, gyms and personal care services (such as hairdressing) can reopen (if Covid-secure).
* Outdoor tourism and entertainment venues can remain open subject to rules and guidelines.
* Indoor entertainment venues - such as bowling alleys and cinemas - must stay closed
Full details of the Tier 3 restrictions can be found on the Government website at [link removed] [ [link removed] ]
I would urge people to continue to follow the best practice around Hands, Face, Space and reduce contact with people from other households as much as possible. In particular, anyone who has symptoms of Covid-19 such as a fever, continuous cough or loss of taste or smell should isolate immediately and book a test by calling 119.

*Broadmarsh: The Big Conversation*
So far, around 2,000 people have had their say on the future of the Broadmarsh Centre after we launched our Big Conversation in mid-October. Id really like local people to give their good ideas on how to make this an environmentally friendly and sustainable area. This is a once-in-a-generation opportunity to reimagine and reshape a significant space in the heart of Nottingham and build a new vision for how cities should look following the coronavirus pandemic.
A web app has been developed at www.nottinghamcity.gov.uk/broadmarshbigconversation [ [link removed] ]
to provide a guide to the Big Conversation, tell the story of Broadmarsh past and present and give people the opportunity to share their views and ideas on its future by completing a survey. I would urge anyone who hasnt already done so to take a look, its a really great interactive resource.
