President Donald Trump has unleashed new attacks on the Arctic, pulling out all the stops to do as much damage as possible before leaving office. We're determined to stop him. But we need 500 new monthly members to get the resources we need. So we're turning Giving Tuesday into Giving WEEK:

Supporter,
We knew Donald Trump was going to keep trying to strip away environmental safeguards before he was forced out of office, but we didn't know it would be this bad.
First, the Trump administration issued a "request for nominations" to oil companies—effectively asking them to choose any site they want in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge's coastal plain to lease for oil drilling.
Just days later, his Bureau of Ocean Energy Management released a proposal to weaken environmental safeguards for offshore drilling in the Arctic—removing nearly half the provisions currently protecting Arctic waters and ecosystems from a devastating oil spill.
We need strong legislation protecting the Arctic—and all vulnerable wild places. We need immediate action to fight the climate crisis—not worsen it. We need to fight Trump while he's still in power—and to hold President-elect Joe Biden accountable when he takes office.

This dire Arctic news comes amid a global public health crisis that has caused oil prices to plummet to extreme lows. It's such a bad deal that the six major U.S. banks—Bank of America, Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan Chase, Citigroup, Morgan Stanley and Wells Fargo—have announced they will not fund any new oil and gas development in the Arctic Refuge.
The Arctic is a desperately important natural resource, home to a dwindling population of polar bears and vast swathes of sea ice that are already melting due to the climate crisis. Drilling is strongly opposed by Indigenous leaders, whose ways of life are already being severely impacted by climate change.
We're joining a coalition of Indigenous, human rights and environmental organizations to fight back. We're fighting to protect land in the courts and on Capitol Hill. We've beaten Trump before, I know we can do it again.
