We talk all the time about leadership,
friends -- what it looks like, who is impacted, and
how we can lead to make a difference. We are so proud of our
legacy of leadership here at Team Peters. Flipping districts,
supporting freshmen Democrats, strengthening our party -- all of
that is valuable, meaningful work. (You can donate to fund those
efforts here!

But we have our eye on the long term here. We're building a
bench with intelligent, skilled, articulate Democratic young kids
and I had to brag about it to the San Diego Union Tribune:
The Peters campaign also supported Democratic clubs on
campuses and the San Diego County Young Democrat Club, and it
consistently runs one of the biggest internship programs among
congressional candidates since 2012.
Pintar estimates at least 500 interns have cycled
through it, learning all aspects of the campaign, from phone
banking and canvassing to drafting a poll and campaign finances.
Several intern alumni have become staff on other campaigns and
local Democratic leaders, including the current chair of the
county's Democratic party, Will Rodriguez-Kennedy.
Pintar said the intern program and youth outreach were
essential to the congressman's election success, especially
during the earlier, more competitive races.
"I think I can very safely say we would not have won
without the youth-driven get-out-the-vote and field efforts,"
Pintar said.
And I meant what I said, friends.
I am so proud of our interns, past and present. They are
valuable, essential members of our team and I've loved watching
them learn and thrive in our office.
We're doing a 1-day fundraising drive in honor of the
five-hundred interns that have passed through our office. Each
dollar will go straight towards funding more engagement efforts
with San Diego's young voters.
This is a real investment in our future, and I can't think
of anything more valuable. I hope you'll chip in today:
