Dear readers,
Our November issue presents a number of fresh analysis and publications on child poverty, and exciting new initiatives to support children living in poverty. This is welcome news amidst the unprecedented economic crisis we're experiencing, which is hitting the most vulnerable populations particularly hard. Many of the Coalition members commemorated the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty on Oct 17th, highlighting the COVID-19 pandemic's impact on poor children, and the need for urgent and concerted actions, namely in social protection and social services. Please read below the details and links to these updates.
Warm regards,
the Global Coalition to End Child Poverty.

------------------------------------------------------------
[link removed]
New analysis by UNICEF and World Bank estimates that 1 in 6 children – or 356 million globally – were living in extreme poverty before the COVID-19 crisis. ------------------------------------------------------------
[link removed]
Ending poverty in all its forms for everyone, including for children, is at the heart of the Sustainable Development Goals, adopted five years ago by the global community. Voluntary National Reviews ([link removed]) (VNRs) is one of the key mechanisms to assess progress on Agenda 2030. This Coalition brief is the second annual analysis of the VNRs from a child poverty perspective, looking at how countries mention and discuss their efforts to end child poverty, through measurement and policies. Among the 179 VNRs presented in the past four years, less than a third reported on monetary child poverty rate, and only 22 reported on multidimensional child poverty rate in their countries. →Read the briefing note ([link removed]) and summary two-pager ([link removed])
