John, I’m so grateful.
Thanks to 1,230 donors, Amnesty International Canada raised $86,200 for our life-saving human rights work this Giving Tuesday. With the Flaman Foundation matching all gifts made in the lead up to Giving Tuesday, that means together we raised $136,200 for human rights!
Our work to defend and protect human rights around the world depends on these donations from people like you all across Canada.
These donations keep this community independent, relentless and impactful. They power critical research and generate action to prevent and stop human rights violations in every corner of the world. They enable us to respond immediately to human rights crises in countries and regions as they occur and work tirelessly to prevent situations reaching crisis point.
I also know that not everyone is in a position to contribute financially. That’s ok because every petition you signed, letter you wrote, and event you attended matters.
But if you haven’t given yet, and want to donate to our shared work, please click here.
John, in a world facing multiple crises — a global pandemic, systemic racism, climate change, division and harrowing levels of conflict — it’s easy to feel overwhelmed. But we believe in our collective power: millions of people acting with hope, resilience and determination to forge a world with human rights and dignity for all.
For nearly 60 years, Amnesty International has been pushing for the impossible, and changing lives. This community of believers has never given up, and we’ll continue to keep pushing, defending and protecting, no matter the challenge.

Thank you for being a part of this movement, and to all the donors who gave so generously this season.
With gratitude,
Ketty Nivyabandi
