Congress is back in session this week, and Yvette is working hard to make sure our community’s priorities are top-of-mind across Congressional priorities.

The budget is currently set to expire in just over a week, and the House is getting to work on comprehensive stimulus bills to provide relief for families and small businesses suffering due to the pandemic. 

Despite surging cases of COVID-19 in Brooklyn and around the nation, the Senate has yet to even take up the Heroes Act, which was passed by the House all the way back in May.

This critical piece of legislation would provide an additional round of direct cash payments to the American people, and help states, cities, and small businesses manage the economic impacts of the pandemic. This type of relief has never been more urgently needed as we reach a new peak in this crisis!

Yvette’s working hard for Brooklyn, and she’s interested in hearing directly from you. What do you want to see Congress tackle in the coming weeks and months? Now that you know what Congress is working on, we want to know what you want to see!
