New Content from BPC:

BPC continues our work in complex care by publishing two infographics and a one-pager highlighting recommendations from our 2019 Next Steps in Chronic Care report. These three documents outline how policymakers can expand coverage of targeted non-medical benefits in Medicare fee-for-service and improve the flexibility of supplemental benefits in Medicare Advantage.

BPC recognized National Rural Health Day on November 19 by promoting how technology can better improve access to care in rural communities. COVID-19 has led to an increase in telehealth across the U.S., and while Congress has temporarily reduced regulatory barriers to these services, rural communities need permanent solutions. Earlier this year, BPC’s Rural Health Task Force recommended policy proposals to expand the use of telehealth in rural communities in a report, Confronting Rural America’s Health Care Crisis.

Marilyn Serafini, Director of the Health Project, joined Wisconsin's WXPR Local Public Radio and Michigan’s WPHM to discuss this topic.

This episode focuses on our November 13 event featuring Sen. Angus King (I-ME) examining what telehealth might look like after COVID-19 in rural areas and around the country. It also highlights our November 16 event examining the future of health care reform after the 2020 election.
