A-Team,

Recently, I’ve emailed you a lot about dollars and donor goals and deadlines, and I will still ask you to donate today, but first I wanted to take a minute to tell you why this movement we’re building together is so important to me on a personal level.

Before I joined the A-Team, I fought for reproductive freedom in Massachusetts and Texas. I will never forget the calls we had to make to patients to explain that a judge had decided they were unfit to make decisions about their own bodies, or the jeers and taunts directed at women arriving at the clinic in search of basic healthcare.

But I’ve also felt the power of organizing and mobilizing, of people showing up and speaking out -- from State Houses to the Supreme Court -- in defense of the right to access critical reproductive healthcare.

Now, I am humbled to have the opportunity to work for a woman who actively leads the fight for reproductive freedom and justice. From chairing the Abortion Rights and Access Task Force and introducing ground-breaking legislation like the MOMMIES Act, to leading efforts to make birth control available over the counter and speaking out against draconian efforts to limit reproductive rights in states around the country, Ayanna Pressley is standing up for people in the MA-7 and around the country.

I’m proud to have her back, and I know that we couldn’t do this without all of you -- the members of the movement, from every corner of the district, who are standing up, speaking out, and demanding change.

I hope you’ll consider chipping in what you can today to keep our movement growing. So that we can continue organizing and mobilizing, and make sure that everyone knows that our rights are not up for debate. >>
