Allies of President Trump want a federal court in Michigan to force Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (D) to set aside election results and award its 16 electoral votes to the president.

And Rep. Mike Kelly (R-PA) asked the Supreme Court to nullify Biden's win in Pennsylvania as he challenges mail-in ballot rules. (Kelly’s request comes after Gov. Tom Wolf already certified that Biden won the state's 20 Electoral College votes.)

The Michigan lawsuit, filed by Trump-affiliated attorney Sidney Powell and a cadre of other attorneys, reads:

"The multifaceted schemes and artifices implemented by defendants and their collaborators to defraud resulted in the unlawful counting, or manufacturing, of hundreds of thousands of illegal, ineligible, duplicate or purely fictitious ballots in the State of Michigan, that constitute a multiple of Biden’s purported lead in the State."

There is no evidence of widespread election fraud in Michigan or elsewhere.

** Barr Taps Durham as Special Counsel

Attorney General William Barr on Tuesday told the Associated Press that he appointed U.S. Attorney John Durham as a special counsel on October 19th to continue his investigation into the origins of the probe into alleged collusion between Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign and Russia.

By making Durham a special counsel, Barr is providing extra protection for Durham to continue his investigation beyond the inauguration of President-elect Joe Biden. It’s common for an incoming administration to remove U.S. attorneys, sometimes en masse, so Durham’s investigation could’ve been thwarted through his termination by Biden without the special counsel status.

Barr told the AP he “decided the best thing to do would be to appoint them under the same regulation that covered Bob Mueller, to provide Durham and his team with some assurance that they’d be able to complete their work regardless of the outcome of the election.”

** COVID-19 Vaccine Priorities

The Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices voted Tuesday to recommend that the first COVID-19 vaccines should go to healthcare workers and residents of long-term care facilities.

"Long term care facility residents are defined as adults who reside in facilities that provide a variety of services, including medical and personal care, to persons who are unable to live independently," the CDC said.

"Healthcare personnel are defined as paid and unpaid persons serving in healthcare settings who have the potential for direct or indirect exposure or infectious materials."
