The election is officially on, and for voters and the media, climate change is
top of mind. But what should be in a strong climate action plan? It should be
one that does its fair share to meet our international commitments and to keep
warming below catastrophic levels. Our experts put forward their top list of
climate change policies to watch for while you are reading election platforms
and talking to local candidates.

Is the upcoming federal election the most important one in your lifetime? It is

Have you registered to vote?

Election day is October 21. But you can skip the election day lineups by voting
during advance polling on October 11, 12, 13 and 14. Another option is to vote
by special ballot at any Elections Canada office or by mail before October 16.
