Dear Friend,
Everyone has certain basic rights, no matter who’s president. With news about Trump’s deportation force possibly carrying out raids this weekend, it’s important for allies to remember that we all have an important role to play in ensuring that all of our communities are safe — both if you see an ICE raid taking place, and in your everyday environment.
Remember, family separation and immigration enforcement doesn’t just happen over single weekends; it happens every day. Here are some ways that you can help keep your community safe:
Prepare Your Community
Create a network of friends, family, neighbors, and others to be ready to protest or take action if ICE shows up. Consider joining your local Sanctuary network or Raids Rapid Response Network if there is one, as they will have plenty of local resources. You can also download the Notifica app to report ICE raids in your community.

If You Are An Employer
Train your workers to NOT talk to ICE agents and to NOT allow ICE to enter your workplace. Read our guide here for more information.
Contact Your Local Officials
Every branch of local government has a responsibility to know what’s going on in their communities. Call, email, or tweet at your local representatives to tell them you oppose all raids conducted by Trump’s deportation force, and that they go everything against our country should stand for.
Join a Protest!
Tonight, around the US and around the globe, there are local events hosted by Lights for Liberty. Check if there is one near you here!
Raise Your Voice!
Here are some sample tweets that you can use, with research from us and our partners:
It’s up to all of us to keep our communities safe from deportation. Thank you for everything that you do.
