Dear John,

I volunteered at Children's Hospital Los Angeles for years before I became a parent. It's my neighborhood children's hospital, and I was motivated to find a way to give back to my community.

When I would visit, I was always amazed by the energy and love I saw hospital staff give not only to patients, but families as well. I'm thrilled to share my retelling of classic fables with CHLA patients. The stories are updated with an emphasis on modern values--like caring for one another and treating others equally--and I hope they'll bring the same delight to CHLA's patients as they have to my children.
