We wanted to share the following message of support for Chairman Pearce. The following is from Rick Rice, a former Republican Party of Minnesota National Committeeman:

It is my honor to write in support of Steve Pearce's re-election as your State Party Chair.

While I would not dream of telling any New Mexico SCC Delegate how to vote, I can, however, share with you the impression Steve has made these past two years as a member of the RNC 168 voting members.

From his very first meeting, Steve has been willing to stand up in meetings and speak truth to power. His logical points were articulated effectively with a steady voice, maturity and passion. I remember sitting at a table and someone said "Who is that guy?" to which another responded "I don't know, but I wish he was our State Party Chair." During my entire time on the RNC I have never witnessed an exchange like this.

New Mexico is fortunate to have Steve's level of seasoned quality representation at the national level-- few states are this fortunate. In fact, a "rotating state party chair" is one of the leading causes of states that should be red, turning blue. With Steve Pearce, New Mexico has the best of both worlds: leadership with strong/seasoned articulation and persuasion skills as well as longevity in a critically important position.

Democrats too frequently have full-time, highly compensated professionals leading their operations 365 days a year, year in and year out. In order for Republicans to win, will we need leadership in the game who understands political operations inside and out, who are committed to our cause with backbone, can articulate our position via the media and represent our party's plateform in thought, word and deed. New Mexico is fortunate to have exactly such a leader in Steve Pearce.
