Joe Biden won the presidency with about 80 million votes, more than any presidential candidate in history. But Donald Trump got over 73 million -- the second-highest vote total in American history.
This is a problem. Biden should be enjoying a massive victory, and claiming a mandate to govern as a progressive for the next four years. But instead, the president-elect’s win is sullied by the fact that his runner-up got so many votes too.
We won’t challenge the veracity of Donald Trump’s votes -- we’re not the Republicans. But one thing we will do is prove that, even though Biden’s opponent got a historic amount of votes this election, Biden's supporters are much more enthusiastic.
