Dear Supporter,

In a press conference today in London, my fellow Co-Founder of The Sentry George Clooney and I along with senior members of The Sentry's investigative team presented the findings of a new -- and shocking -- report, "The Taking of South Sudan."

The Sentry's investigation exposes an array of international actors who stand to profit from the U.S., UK, Asia and elsewhere, the looting of state assets, and reveals one of the biggest companies in the world providing direct support to deadly militias. Our report details the carving up for private profit of the most lucrative economic and government sectors in the world's youngest nation. Meanwhile, the South Sudanese people starved, were killed, and were run off their homelands.

The good news is that we can ensure the networks who benefitted from war and devastation – and who even today continue to facilitate corruption and conflict will be dismantled.

With serious policy tools of financial coercion, such as network sanctions and anti-money laundering measures, the possibility exists to eliminate the incentives for profiteering, and to empower the South Sudanese people in their brave struggle for good governance and sustainable peace.

Sincerely,
