AFT

John,

Today, I’m in Washington, D.C., with AFT members and Montana Gov. Steve Bullock for an AFT Votes town hall. We’re getting started at 4:30 p.m. Eastern time.

You can watch the livestream here, and you’ll have the ability to ask questions via Facebook Live. Click here to watch.

This members-only town hall is one in a series of candidate and member events the union is holding across the country as part of our AFT Votes 2020 presidential endorsement process. Over the past few months, the AFT has held town hall meetings with presidential candidates Sen. Bernie Sanders, Rep. Tim Ryan, Sen. Kamala Harris, former Rep. Beto O’Rourke, Sen. Amy Klobuchar, Sen. Elizabeth Warren and former Vice President Joe Biden.

In 2016, Bullock won his second term as governor of Montana, a state that President Trump won. When elected as governor, this smart progressive Democratic had big ideas on how to guarantee healthcare to all, to invest in public education and to give every American a fair shot at a bright future. As a former labor attorney, he has a proud history of standing up for workers. On top of that, he’s been a leader on addressing the climate crisis the world is facing.

AFT members have endorsed him for governor and for attorney general of Montana, because we know he will show up, fight and stand shoulder to shoulder with us on the issues. I’m excited for our members to be able to discuss these ideas with him.

The town hall event starts at 4:30 p.m. Eastern time, and you can watch it live, or later, right on our Facebook page.

In unity,
Randi Weingarten
AFT President
