Dear John,

There’s still time to make a Giving Tuesday donation to OLCV and have your gift matched! Click here to donate: [secure.everyaction.com/YTer4cURg0eNNK2riVl9QQ2] If you give $100 or more, you’ll be entered to win an OLCV swag bag!

I’m sure that, like mine, your inbox is very full today! There are a lot of great causes to support, especially this year. I hope that as you are making your decisions about which groups to support, you will consider making a gift to OLCV: [secure.everyaction.com/YTer4cURg0eNNK2riVl9QQ2] We have a lot of work to do making progress on issues we care about—climate action, clean air and water, our public lands, and environmental justice—and we can’t do it without your support.

Thanks for all you do.

Sincerely,

Morgan Bechtold-Enge, Operations Administrator OLCV

Dear John,
During this incredibly difficult year, what has been giving you hope? For me, it’s young people, including OLCV’s youth interns, volunteers, and climate activists who continue to show up and fight tirelessly for their future. They are one of the reasons why I do this work.
Earlier this fall, we held a Youth Climate Action Facebook Live event and heard directly from some of the young people doing this work.

“I care about climate change because I have to ,” said Aishiki Nag, a 15-year-old from Tigard. “We are truly fighting for a livable future."
“My future depends on the action taken against climate change today ,” said Sofia Jayaswal, a 17-year-old Lincoln High School student.
“My generation’s future is on the line,” said 17-year-old Sam Denton of Portland.
On this Giving Tuesday, will you stand with Oregon’s youth climate activists? [[link removed]] A generous donor has offered to match all of our Giving Tuesday donations so your gift will have twice the impact!
Young people like Aishiki, Sofia, and Sam shouldn’t have to worry about whether or not they’ll inherit a livable planet. It’s up to us to create the kind of future they deserve—one where we transition to clean energy, and prevent the worst effects of climate change from ever taking place. And we can do that—by continuing our work of electing environmental champions and holding our elected officials accountable.
We’ve made some important progress this year. In March, Governor Kate Brown signed one of the boldest climate action executive orders in the country. And in November, we elected new pro-environment candidates and protected environmental champions already in office. But that's just the first step. We have to continue showing up every election, every legislative session, every day , and demanding action on issues that are important to us.
Please make a gift to OLCV today and ensure that we have the resources we need to continue fighting for climate action in 2021 and beyond. [[link removed]]
