Earlier today we took legal action under the Marine Mammal Protection Act to save polar bears, walruses, sea otters and other marine mammals. If the science shows us their populations are decreasing, plans for expanded oil drilling could be stopped. This is why the Marine Mammal Protection Act exists — to keep ocean species safe from industry, whose seismic blasts and oil rigs will destroy habitat. Help us win by making a matched Giving Tuesday gift now. — Kierán
Hi John,
The wildlife disaster known as the Trump administration isn't through with its dirty tricks.
First it stripped gray wolves in the lower 48 states of Endangered Species Act protection; then it rushed to hold a fire sale of the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge to Big Oil.
Now it's pushing to finish its hit job on the Act itself — to make it harder to save wildlife in the future.
This Giving Tuesday, please support the Center's fight for wildlife by donating to the Saving Life on Earth Fund. All Giving Tuesday donations will be doubled.

Trump's U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service wants to make it easier for corporate interests to block the protection of critical habitat.
It's even planning to allow federal lands, including our national forests and parks, to be excluded from protection. Places once safe for endangered species could be torn apart, leading to more devastation of wildlife and risking future pandemics.
We're in court to keep the Act in place, at full force, as a crucial lifeline for biodiversity — and stop it from being reduced to a green light for plundering public land for private profits.
From weakening the Act to pushing to dismantle protections for animals like wolves, the Trump administration's assault on the wild has been worse than any other in U.S. history.
We've launched 249 legal actions to stop them — and will keep pursuing those to the end.
So much is at stake. The extinction crisis, worsened by the climate emergency, makes this a defining moment in our fight to save life on Earth.
Double your Giving Tuesday gift now to the Saving Life on Earth Fund.
