• Our work in Georgia, where in partnership with local organizations, we are doubling down on our voter turnout efforts in the January run-off election. As you know, victory in Georgia’s US Senate races is essential to signing the Equality Act into law.
• GLAAD’s work to increase the representation of transgender people on TV and film will continue, building on wins from this year, like Star Trek: Discovery adding its first non-binary and transgender characters in the half century of the franchise existence.
• We’ll be expanding the road map of success we’ve drawn through Hollywood into the worlds of social media and advertising by launching a new initiative to rate social media platforms on their safety for LGBTQ users and building on the results of our “LGBTQ Inclusion in Advertising and Media” study by designing and creating standards with the ANA, respectively.
• We’ll continue our longstanding commitment to lifting up black queer voices and leveraging traditional media to ensure the voices of more marginalized communities are heard.
