Hi there -- I wanted you to be the first to know that we just filed a legal challenge in Washington state federal court to block President Trump from abusing his presidential powers to erect a wall on our southern border.

Just last week, the Trump administration announced that it would be diverting critical funds from military projects across the country -- including $89 million from Bangor Naval Base, right here in Kitsap County -- to subsidize the building of his border wall.

Even Congress recognizes building this wall makes no sense. So Trump decided to abuse the president's emergency powers in order to deliver his base a wall -- even if it means hurting Washington's economy, our military, and stepping all over the Constitution.

This action by Donald Trump is unlawful and is an outrageous abuse of power. If allowed to go forward, this will set a dangerous precedent that threatens our system of checks and balances.

Thankfully, it's not the loudest voice that prevails in a courtroom, but the Constitution. This is our 48th lawsuit against the Trump administration, and we're not slowing down anytime soon.

I will always fight for Washingtonians against the president's unlawful policies, including this one. Our undefeated record against this administration speaks for itself. We're 21-0 -- and I don't intend to lose this one.

More on this to come.
Bob
